The Townsville Veteran, Vintage & Historic Motor Club was founded in February 1968 as the Townsville Veteran & Vintage Motor Club, the first  meeting was called on the 8th off February 1968 at 66 Mclean St Gulliver. In 1973 the North Queensland Hub Rallies commenced between the three North Queensland Clubs – Cairns & District Historic Vehicle Club Inc., Mackay Vintage Motor Club Inc., and the Townsville club. Each club would host the event every three years and in 1986 it was decided that the Easter weekend would be the most suitable time of year to hold the rally. In 2014 Townsville hosted the 40th Hub Rally in Charters Towers with the Queensland Historic Motoring Council coming on board with sponsorship. In 1990 the club became incorporated and changed its name to The Townsville Veteran, Vintage & Historic Motor Club Inc. which allowed all vehicles over 30 years old to be eligible for use in the club Today there is only one Foundation Member left in the club (Norm Morley) who is also an Honorary Life Member. Warren O’Donnell, who has been a member since 1975 is also an Honorary Life Member. The club participates in local community activities such as the Townsville City Council run Heritage Day, the Jaguar Club organized All British Day and the Townsville Combined Clubs Swap Meet each year.
